Aug 4, 2022 | News

One of the most charming DJs in the business. A musical ambassador and a veteran of acid house, a champion of techno, a dance music pioneer, label owner, King of Ibiza you name it, Carl Cox has been there and done it, never losing sight of his passions playing music, breaking tunes and celebrating life. Arguably one of THE most loved DJ’s in the world, Carl ended his 15 year Space Ibiza residency this year in style, also broadcasting to his fans worldwide, with an epic 9 hour set! With endings also come new beginnings. Enter new Techno Brand Pure.

In April of 2016, Carl Cox launched the first installment of his Pure event in Melbourne & Sydney, Australia. Pure showcased players from the global Techno and House movements & featured: Joseph Capriati, Format:B, DJHMC & Eric Powell.

Moving on to its second year in 2017, Pure will also include: Perth & New Zealand into it’s expanding Tour schedule.

Pure will once again feature Carl’s favourite peers, as selected and programmed by himself, Eric Powell (Bush Records) and Richie McNeill (Hardware).

In a global market, where Techno is enjoying a resurgence, Carl Cox has been a spearhead forging boundaries through his work in Ibiza and globally with his Carl Cox Global Radio show. Wanting to present a taste of those experiences to Australia, Carl’s mission is to support the Techno and House community in Australia, with an event of Pure electronic music with a no fluff attitude.

About the Artists:

In what can only be described as stellar year for all of these Artists, Pure is pleased to announce Adam Beyer to the line-up!

Kick-starting a brand new venture in the form of Junction 2 Festival, a suitably stacked out Northern Summer of international festival and Ibiza dates proved to be a marker year for Beyer. Whether it’s on record, behind the decks or under the reliable Drumcode umbrella, Adam Beyer continues to unravel an unprecedented success story for the global underground circuit. Coming in strong is Noir.

Noir is now firmly established in the first rank of house DJs with bookings all over the world. He recorded his first Essential Mix for Radio One and he performed at the BPM festival in Mexico, where one of his original heroes, Kevin Saunderson, played at a Noir Music showcase. Thanks to his label (and his bi-monthly podcast), he’s almost as well known for his skills as an A&R / house music tastemaker as he is producer and DJ. Via Defected, the giant UK house label brought Around to a wider audience and a hugely successful, quickfire double header of mix compilations for the label (Defected In the House Miami 12 and Noir In The House).

And last but by all means not least is Eric Powell DJ, Producer & Promoter boss. Techno lover and Bush Records label owner, Eric can always be depended on to deliver on the decks. Now a veteran of the turntables, his enthusiasm for techno with a slice of funk has never waned. Born in Manchester, educated in Detroit, Chicago, New York and Berlin and a local in Melbourne, Australia.
